What is shared supportive housing?
Shared supportive housing is a living arrangement where individuals share a home or apartment while receiving support services that help maintain housing stability and promote independence. It provides a safe, community-based environment for individuals facing homelessness, mental health challenges, or other barriers to stable housing.
Who is eligible for shared supportive housing?
Eligibility requirements vary by program. In general, individuals experiencing homelessness, those with mental health challenges, substance use disorder, or other circumstances affecting their ability to maintain housing may qualify
What supportive services are offered?
Support may include case management, counseling, life skills training, resource navigation (benefits, healthcare, providers), social/community integration activities and coordination with external agencies.
How are roommates matched?
Roommates are matched based on compatibility, lifestyle preferences, support needs, and other factors to ensure a comfortable shared living experience.
Assessments and interviews help determine best fit.
Is shared supportive housing affordable?
Yes. Shared supportive housing is designed to be affordable. Rent is typically based on income or set at a reasonable program rate. Some participants may qualify for subsidies or vouchers to offset costs.
What amenities are included?
Amenities may vary, but commonly include furnished rooms, shared living spaces, kitchens, bathrooms, laundry, outdoor spaces, utilities included, and access to onsite or nearby supportive services.
How long can individuals stay?
Length of stay depends on individual needs, program design, and available resources. Some placements are short-term transitional, while others offer longer-term housing with the goal of long-term stability and independence.
How do I apply?
Applications may be submitted online or through referral partners such as community agencies, hospitals, case workers, or social service organizations. Do you provide housing for families?
At this time, we serve single adults only. We do not currently have housing for families or women with children. We can provide referrals to other resources, shelters, and community agencies.
Do you help with rental assistance or utility assistance?
No. We do not provide rental or utility assistance outside of the housing program.
Do you offer refunds?
All program fees are non-refundable. If we determine that a participant is not a good fit, we will support them through referrals and external resources to help guide next steps.
